Did you feel the chill at home last winter while your energy bills soared? Are you eager to cut your bills and make your home cosier? You’re not alone! But there’s good news: Citizens Advice 1066, in partnership with the LEAD Project, is here to help!
Summer is a great time to prepare your home for the colder winter months, and the LEAD project will help you figure out what the best options are, and if there’s financial help available. Citizens Advice 1066 is offering you:
- A free home energy assessment, worth up to £500, to identify how you could save money and make your home more eco-friendly. An experienced professional surveyor will visit your home and identify areas where you can improve energy efficiency, producing a written assessment report.
- A follow-up home visit from our friendly energy advice team to explain the assessment report and investigate the next steps with you.
Government grants might help cover the cost of some upgrades, depending on your eligibility. Even if you don’t qualify for grants, the LEAD assessment report can help you prioritise cost-effective options and avoid potential scams. Energy advisors can help you fill out any forms needed and learn how to avoid scams that may be out there.
LEAD is open to homeowners and private landlords or tenants throughout rural Rother, the main criteria is that your home needs to be ‘hard to treat’, which includes homes that:
- Have solid walls (common in pre-1920s homes)
- Are timber or non-standard construction
- Are not connected to mains gas
- Have damp problems or ongoing maintenance issues
So don’t delay, call or visit the website now and get your free home energy assessment! The LEAD programme runs until early 2025, but the number of surveys is limited, so get in touch soon to make sure you don’t miss out!
