Rye Allotment Society is made up of allotment tenants, and assists Rye Town Council with some of the day-to-day management of each site.
All allotment tenants are required to be a member of Rye Allotment Society in order to access affiliate membership of the National Allotments Society (NAS). This membership includes coverage under the NAS Allotmenteers Liability Insurance and means all tenants have basic insurance coverage when working their plot.
Rye Allotment Society membership fee is now collected by Rye Town Council along with allotment rents, which are payable annually. You will see this membership fee included as a separate line on your allotment bill, charged per tenant.
The annual membership fee for Rye Allotment Society is £5 per tenant (including affiliate NAS membership and associated insurance). If you have a joint tenancy you will be charged a membership fee per tenant, not per plot. This is to ensure that all tenants have basic insurance. If you have others who regularly assist you with working your plot, we encourage them to join Rye Allotment Society separately to take advantage of this facility.
Please note, it is your responsibility to keep us updated with any changes to your contact information (Allotment Rules (Aug 24), part 15). This is the information passed to Rye Allotment Society and used to administer your NAS insurance. If this information is incorrect or out-of-date, it could invalidate your insurance.

Contact details for tenants of Rye’s Allotment Sites, including name, email address, telephone number and address are shared with Rye Allotment Society for the purpose of administering this membership. This information is also shared, by them, with the National Allotment Society via the associations affiliate NAS membership – this is only used to administer the insurance cover and not for any other purpose.
