Tree Planting Day at Mason Field

(opposite Tilling Green Community Centre, TN31 7BE)

Friday 28th March, 10.00 – 16.00.

 

Last week, Rother District Council officers were joined by community volunteers to begin planting a micro wood on Mason Field, and will complete the planting this Friday 28th March, 10.00 – 16.00.

Local residents are invited to help create this green space to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III, increase tree cover and improve biodiversity in the area.

No gardening experience is necessary, and you could stay just an hour or all day. Refreshments will be provided.

All volunteers are asked to:

  • wear suitable clothing, suitable footwear (wellies or sturdy boots) and gloves (preferably gardening gloves)
  • Snacks and drinks will be provided but please bring your own lunch (if required) and a travel mug/flask for hot drinks.
  • follow the directions of event coordinators whilst on site and act in a safe and considerate manner at all times.
  • walk, use public transport or car share to the site wherever possible.
  • if you easily can, please bring a spade or other hand tool to use to plant tree saplings.
