The 71st National Town Criers’ Championship takes place in its new location of Rye on Saturday 12th October 2024.
Join Rye’s own Town Criers, as they host Criers from across the country taking part in this spectacular event, being held in the Gun Gardens in Rye.
Judging will be based on volume, diction, clarity and inflection. Round one takes place from 11.30am – 1pm, hearing a ‘home cry’ from each participant. The competition continues in the afternoon, from 2pm – 3.30pm, with a themed cry; after which the results will be announced.
In the event of poor weather, the event will take place in nearby St Mary’s Church.
